What They Don't Tell You About Fieldwork Placements

Welcome to PART 2 of my #TayTalk on things I learned about expectations around fieldwork sites.

Top ranked facilities or areas that are highly specialized (think: hand therapy, neurorehab, inpatient pediatrics, mental health) usually PREFER to have Level 2B students vs Level 2A students.

This makes a lot of sense because as a Level 2B, you have been down the fieldwork path and you are about to graduate so you may be more prepared to handle the topics, intensity and rigor that these settings demand compared to someone on their first level 2 ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ

Thatโ€™s not always the case (it wasnโ€™t for me) - but, per my AFWC in school, that is typically the โ€œnormโ€.

ALSO

Remember that locations only have a certain number of spots at their facility PER YEAR and you are not only battling your classmates but also other students from programs ACROSS THE COUNTRY for these limited spots.

I mentioned before to openly communicate with your AFWC but also give them some grace because a lot of times there are things outside of their control ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ
